The third Thursday of October marks the second International Conflict Resolution Day. The World Mediation Forum and the Association for Conflict Resolution co-sponsored the first event. At the same time last year, the International Coalition of Concerned Mediators (ICCM) presented a Call to Action at their annual conference and began working to create a global community of like value-minded Alternative Dispute Resolution professionals and members of the public to share ideas and take action at this crucial juncture of the world. Members work on the community, national and international levels and are involved in a wide range of topics including inter-group relations, community, development, environment, natural resource management, labor-management relations, human rights and war/peace issues. Members of the public are are urged to learn more about recent developments in mediation at the international level and endorse the ICCM’s Call to Action.
